Oana Bogdan is invited as jury member for the Diploma projects of USI Mendrisio, in the studios of Valerio Olgiati, Aires Mateus, Michele Arnaboldi, Valentin Bearth, Martin Boesch and Kersten Geers.
With the Diploma 2020 the students stayed very close to the Academy and focused on Ponte Chiasso, the border-crossing between Chiasso and Como, examining a circle of 3,5 km radius to include a variety of situations and sites that are affected by the border: its specific economic and social implications, its infrastructures and the differences of currency, value, laws and political entities.
The Università della Svizzera italiana (USI Mendrisio) dedicates this collective video to young architects who graduated from the Academy of Architecture in June 2020. The film collects the statements of students, professors and jury members who continued to work even during the lockdown period and later discussed and reviewed the 141 Diploma projects developed in the Chiasso/Ponte Chiasso border area between Italy and Switzerland.
The projects were displayed in this exhibition.
